FAQ from the press release

I checked my boxes, and I am fine. Please check yours. I would hate for anyone to eat glass because of a product that I suggested on this blog!

In other news, yes, I survived having my wisdom teeth pulled. My mouth is sore and I am living on baby food and ice cream, but I think I'll live.

Wisdom Teeth Out: Baby Food

I'm gearing up to have oral surgery tomorrow. They pulled my left two wisdom teeth a few years ago, and tomorrow the right two are going. Last time, I lived on instant mashed potatoes for a week. This time, I wised up and bought baby food, which has come a long way! They have lasagna, spaghetti with sauce, turkey dinner, pasta primavera, roast beef, and lots of cool seedless breakfast stuff, too! I got oatmeal with pears and cinnamon, rice cereal with pears. and blueberry pear puree.

It is important that whatever you eat after having teeth extracted be seedless because seeds can get stuck in the root canal and interfere with blood clots forming and gum tissues healing. I got mighty tired of eating mashed potatoes every day last time, so this time I hope variety is the spice!

I weighed in at 155 this morning.

I am doing great staying off the diet soda and switching to decaf coffee. So far, so good on that front.

Blueberries and Cheese

OK, I get some weird ideas when I am home alone on Valentine's Day because my husband has to work, but hey, this was good! What looks like butter in the custard dish with the blueberries because of bad lighting is actually a slice of American cheese. I folded it twice, stuck it in the blueberries, and microwaved on high for twenty seconds. The result was sort of like blueberry pie without the crust and sort of like blueberry cheesecake. I will definitely have it again!

I weighed in at 154 this morning, but I have been eating chocolate today... We are going out to dinner Saturday, for Valentine's, with our whole church. It was really fun last year. There are going to be door prizes and everything! Everyone brings one, and then we draw numbers. No stealing gifts, though. It's not a white elephant exchange. Anyway, it's a buffet place. I plan on loading my plate full of steak and veggies, and then going ahead and having dessert!

I Fought the Cord Monster

Apple is on to something with all their latest computers being cordless. I won't show you the after picture; it's not as interesting as the old cord monster, here. I went in and bundled the length I wasn't using and tied it with wires so that now all my cords are only as long as I need them to be, and they don't get wound around each other or any and every stray thing that wanders into their vicinity.

I weighed in at 154.6 this morning, a pound lighter than last Sunday. I don't plan on gaining ten pounds again next Christmas. Cookies are good and all, but nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. I can't wear most of my work clothes. That is an awful feeling. Even five pounds makes the difference between size 8 and no longer size 8. They are coming off, though.

We're a Two Car Family Again!

We'd been saving for a second car since I lost my company car in 2007. We spent the past two days outdoors at an auto auction, and that time was well spent! We got a great deal on this 2005 Chevy Silverado 4x4 extended cab!

I took the second photo at the auction, seconds after we won the bid. I was all bundled up: snow pants, snow coat, boots, hoodie, mittens. It was 33 degrees out, icy, and windy. Sorry the third photo is blurry, but you can see just how big the truck is!

We can't drive it until we get a license plate for it tomorrow, but we sure are happy! Soon, there'll be no more, "Are you working tomorrow? OK, I'll tell them I'm not available, then."

I weighed in this morning at 155.6.
